Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments.

Do you read that like a test that you're always failing?

Maybe you come from a background like I did where the message you heard all the time in the church was shape up or ship out, and you read this verse and feel like you just aren't good enough for Jesus. You just don't love Him enough. You keep falling short.

That's the wrong message and that's the wrong way to read this verse. This verse is a promise. This verse is about love, not about obedience.
